On Saturday July 14th we held our annual junior academy open at Ledene. The competition was split in to 2 groups the advanced players who played 9 holes and the under 10’s who played 6 holes.
In difficult conditions due to the recent heavy rain the standard of golf produced by both groups was excellent. In the advanced group after 6 holes Michael, Jaye, Ben, Sam and George had all got points on the board but over the last 3 holes of the competition an intriguing battle developed between Jaye and Michael which went to the last green, with Jaye edging out Michael by 1 point to finish with an excellent total of 9 points.
In the under 10 section played over 6 holes again the standard was excellent considering some of the juniors taking part have only been playing golf for a short period and again this was a close contest with Gabe finishing with 2 points closely followed by Harry on 1 point. I would like to congratulate everybody who took part on Saturday and was really pleased to see how the standard has improved not only from the prize winners but the rest of the juniors who took part in the event on Saturday.
